Meet Big Al and Ginger
Spirits Distilled in Copper Just Taste Better.
Meet Big Al and Ginger, members of the family, custom built and designed for us by HBS Copper (aka Hill Billy Stills) out of Kentucky, home to the best bourbon in the world with generations of moonshining experience. Big Al is our vodka, moonshine and whiskey master, while ‘Gin’ger is our gin queen. She’s smaller but a shining example of how powerful things can come in small packages. Big Al and Ginger are handmade works of art — kind of like Tumbleweed, if we do say so ourselves.

Our home and Hardy Land
Courage is a Vitamin Best Swallowed with Whiskey.
We almost lost it all during those heady gold rush days. After David Douglas struck gold near Osoyoos in 1833, American prospectors flooded the area. For a while, it looked like this might become American territory, but the locals were a hardy bunch. Sir James Douglas, a badass governor of what became B.C., hired some muscle, laid down the law, and took back control. It’s probably fair to assume Sir Douglas had a few to build up his courage.
Our Spirits
Time-tested techniques. Taste-tested kick.
We make vodka the way vodka should taste, gin that reinvigorates the gin-sipping experience and moonshine that could, just speaking frankly, knock your socks off. We’ll be pouring vodka, gin, fireweed, maple moonshine, apple pie moonshine, rock creek rye, and special limited seasonal releases.

Seasonal Releases
Very Small Batch
Small batch seasonal releases made from locally supplied premium Okanagan ingredients

Dark Spirits
Great sipping Whiskeys
Top shelf and as smooth as it gets made from 100% rye!

Moonshine
One Of A Kind
This ain’t your mama’s moonshine. But make sure you share with her.

White Spirits
Vodka and Gin
Try our gin. ’Cause those leather pants aren’t going to wear themselves.
We make vodka, the antidote for rattlesnake bites and bruised egos.
You’d have to be crazy not to use ingredients from the most beautiful place on earth.
We take B.C. grains harvested at their peak, and the best Okanagan fruit and botanicals, and distill them using time-tested European filtration methods. After that, we proof them with artisanal spring water from our very own Anarchist Mountain. Then we taste them generously, to make sure they’re high quality enough for you. We’re good like that.

Tumbleweed and HBS Copper - Our Story
We don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.
(But this one’s true.)
When Prohibition left Americans dry in the 20s, some wily Canadians risked life and limb to smuggle spirits down over Lake Osoyoos — most famous among them was notorious bootlegger-turned-charity-baron Joe Murphy. People still find bottles on the surface of the lake, from a scuttled bootlegging boat (our landlord found one). Here at Tumbleweed, just like our ancestors, we go to extraordinary lengths to help you get a little tipsy.
